DIY grid tray

New obsession : the grid pattern black on white. If everything that is inside my head ends up of the blog, this is not the end of the grid pattern!

Le first of the this “series” is this grid tray. Perfect for breakfast in bed or to put projects in progress on (for me it’s more the second option since it’s forbidden by my husband to eat in bed… apparently with me it’s too much of a risk… even with my new tray ?)

I’m still in love with it (the tray) and since I made it I keep trying to find reasons to use it (drinks, appetizer tray, knitting, photo background…)

To make your own DIY grid tray you need :

1- Protect the white part of the tray with masking tape

2 – Paint the wooden part with the black paint (2 coats)

3 – varnish

4 – Take your ruler out and mark 4 cm on the longer side and trace your lines

Then do the same thing to the other side (be very careful when you move your ruler)

**** I major failed the first time so I had to start all over and completely paint the bottom of the tray white ? but you should be able to do it directly on the tray

***** 4 cm squares are aaaallmost perfect so we’ll just say they are.

I advise you to coat with varnish to protect your grid pattern once your marker is dry
