Whether you like this round towel trend or not… you can’t say it’s not fabulously summery to be lying down on a lemon slice (a little citrus cocktail would have made this perfect)
At first I was a bit disappointed The background fabric wasn’t white.. but it turns out I love the vintag-y feel it has with this beige and yellow mix.
p.s. Like for the watermelon round towel I didn’t use actual towel material so it’s more of a towel/blanket/table cloth kind of thing! perfect for picnics and lying around in parks or beaches but not to much for actually absorbing water after a swim!
What you need:
- cream/white thick coton (1,20 m)
- yellow coton (1,20 m)
- stiped bias (5 m)
- sewing machine
- yellow thread
1- Same as for the watermelon round towel, use a stick + cord + chalk to trace a circle (1,20 m diamater approximately) on your beige cotton. Then cut out the circle.
2- Fold your yellow fabric in 4 to create 8 pieces. place on your circle and cut the shape out to make them rounded
3.Cut out the pieces by following your creases and place them on your beige circle. Fold the sides in and pin in place (don’t be shy with the pins really go for it!).
And yes, I work like a pig, I didn’t cut them to the rights size or anything I just folded until it looked nice. So yeah, there’s kind of a lot underneath but honestly… you can’t even tell!
lazy 1 , perfectionism 0
4. Sew in place, stay nice and close to the sides.
It looks a bit scary but honestly it’s fine!
5.Sew your bias all around. I just pinched it around and when for it one shot (I did not respect the bias art at all and it worked just fine!)
That’s it!!
So wich one’s your favorite? Lemon or Watermelon?
