DIY refashion : Black dress

There’s something so satisfying about finding something in a thrift shop. The thrill of finding a hidden gem… like you’re winning a contest (you’re the only participant but who cares!). I was not always fond of thrift shopping with my mom ” WHY CAN’T I DRESS LIKE EVERYONE ELSE??” and then one day… I got it… not only the excitement of the chase but I realized just how much waste goes into the clothing industry… and that most of the clothes only get a short life before they end up in the garbage or… the second hand shops!

Here I’m showing you a dress I found for a bug 6 bucks and got a refashion in the Spring in Fialta workshop. I loved the back detail and my mom had the genius idea of suggesting I put it in front! So I just flipped the dress around, pinned it on myself sewed and hemmed the bottom.. that’s it!

To adjust it I put it on inside out and pinned following my waistline. The back became the front so it now opens up in the back with a line buttons.
